Worker’s Comp

The law requires any business with three or more workers (including regular part-time workers) to have workers’ compensation insurance.  Workers’ compensation (also known as worker’s comp) is an insurance program which may provide you with medical, rehabilitation and income benefits if you are injured while on the job. These benefits are designed to help you get back to work. It also provides benefits to your dependents if you die as a result of a job related injury.

If you are injured while on the job, you should immediately report the incident to your employer (via your immediately supervisor).  You are in jeopardy of losing your benefits if you wait longer than 30 days. Your employer should also provide a list of six doctors, from which you can choose to get a medical evaluation.  The workers’ compensation insurance should pay for your authorized medical treatments related to the injury that occurred while at work.

Worker’s comp claims can become very complex.  Pandora and her team can answer your questions and ensure you are receiving the benefits you deserve.
